Kino ums Eck during Women’s Week on March 6:

As part of Vienna Women’s Week and in collaboration with the “Nordwestbahnhof im Wandel” project, we organized a “Kino ums Eck” event on March 6 at the Stadtraum premises in the Nordwestbahnhof area and screened the thematically appropriate silent film “Das Einküchenhaus” by Leopold Nirnberger (1923). The cinema event was well attended and the subsequent discussion was lively, with active participation from the audience.

Kino ums Eck at Hauswirtschaft on April 29, 2025:

As part of a collaboration with Hauswirtschaft in the Nordbahnviertel, the short film “Kaleidoskop Südpark” was shown on April 29 on their premises. This was followed by a discussion in which key insights and experiences from the Nordbahnviertel district – in particular from the Nordbahnhalle – were reflected upon with regard to the new Nordwestbahnhof urban development area.

Kino ums Eck at the VHS Brigittenau on May 21:

On May 21, we presented the film “Wer wir einmal sein wollten” (Who We Once Wanted to Be) by local filmmaker Özgür Anil in the ballroom of the VHS Brigittenau, followed by a discussion on the topic of equal opportunities.

Kino ums Eck at the Vienna Film Archive of Arbeiterbewegung on November 20:

The cinema event on November 20 at WIFAR was a success, with active participation from attendees, followed by a discussion about urban transformation processes around the Nordwestbahnhof and the surrounding neighborhoods. The film shown was Charlie Chaplin’s “Modern Times” (1936) was shown.

Kino ums Eck at Backbone – Mobile Youth Work on December 10:

After the cancellation of the planned open-air cinema, which was to have taken place after the “Käfig Champs” sports festival on October 2, a replacement date of December 10 was set in collaboration with the Backbone –Mobile Youth Work association. In order to show the film “Skatergirls – Get Up,” which had been planned for the sports festival, to a young audience, the Backbone clubhouse was chosen as the venue, which is regularly frequented by young people several afternoons a week.

NORDWESTBAHNHOF LOOP AUDIOWALK

On December 10, Marlene Rutzendorfer (wonderland) gave an introduction into wonderland audio pruductions and participatory formats, such as Regional_Express at GB* as part of a workshop with ca. 12 students, preparing questions and interviews with stakeholders at Nordwestbahnhof. On Demeber 17, 2025, movies in wonderland collaborated on the recording of the interviews with students and stakeholders from mobility, interim use of vacant spaces, and urban planning. The Loop is currently in Post Production and should be continued with further episodes in 2026.
