From 27 to 29 May 2026, the Fair Mobility Festival will gather researchers, activists, journalists, artists, planers, policymakers, and practitioners in Vienna and Ebensee to rethink mobility through the lens of equity, accessibility, and socio-spatial justice. This three-day event is a space for intersectional exchange, where the voices of women, gender minorities, and marginalized communities take center stage in shaping the future of mobility.
Through walking tours, film screenings, hands-on workshops, and lively debates, we’ll explore how mobility planning can work for everyone—especially women, gender minorities, and marginalized communities. Whether you’re passionate about urban justice, care-based travel, or just love a good conversation about fair cities, this festival is for you. Join us as we delve deep into the issues facing mobility today, and how we can offer differing standpoints and perspectives a chair at the table.

About Fair Mobility
At the heart of the festival is Fair Mobility, a project committed to placing socio-spatial justice at the core of mobility planning. By prioritizing the lived experiences of women and gender minorities, Fair Mobility seeks to transform mobility from a technical issue into a question of rights, power, and access. The project operates through participatory design, and governance initiatives that make invisible barriers visible—whether they are physical, social, or institutional. The goal is clear: to create mobility systems that are not only functional but also equitable, safe, and responsive to the diverse needs of all users. The festival is an opportunity to see this work in action and to join the conversation about how we can build more just cities and regions.
