Topic: Our Free Spaces!
As a kick-off event, Blickpunkte Film Festival at the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024 organizes a short film workshop for filmlovers and architecturephiles aged 15 and older.*
Who owns the street and public space? What about the right to use this space, and the ways we navigate through it? Which routes do we take? Who has access to urban space, to shops, recreational, and green spaces? What do children and young people need or want for spaces and places in their town and neighborhood? Does our region offer sufficient mobility for senior citizens? And what about the re-use of vacant spaces?
Workshop participants will explore these and further questions in conversations and interviews. They will share their own vision of how the built environment can become even more livable in the future, and what other towns may learn from Scharnstein. Workshop results will be presented at the opening night of the Blickpunkte Festival in Scharnstein on July 8, 2022 as well as online.
What is needed for participating in the workshop?
We will mainly use our private smartphones for filming. Microphones and tripods will be provided for the shoot. Cameras and laptops may be brought along. More detailed info will follow at the online introduction.

For over ten years, Mies.Magazin and wonderland – platform for european architecture have worked with film and video to address questions about the built environment and architecture in rural and urban areas. The format at the heart of this work is the personal conversation, be that in exchange with professionals or with users.

Als Kick Off des Blickpunkte Filmfestivals der Kulturhauptstadt Europas Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024 veranstaltet das Projektteam einen Kurzfilmworkshop für Film- und Architekturliebhaber*innen ab 15 Jahren. Kinder und Jugendliche unter 15 Jahren können mit einer erwachsenen Begleitperson teilnehmen.
Wem gehört die Straße und der öffentliche Raum? Wer darf sich dort wie bewegen? Welche Wege legen wir wie zurück? Haben wir alle den gleichen Zugang zum Stadtraum, zu Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, zu Grünflächen? Was brauchen oder wünschen sich Kinder und Jugendliche für Räume und Orte in der Stadt? Was machen wir mit leer stehenden Gebäuden? Und bietet unser Ort auch ausreichend Mobilität für Senior*innen?
Workshopteilnehmer*innen begeben sich in Gesprächen und Interviews auf die Suche nach Antworten auf diese und weitere Fragen und teilen ihre Vision dessen, wie ihre Umgebung in Zukunft noch lebenswerter werden kann und was andere Ortschaften von Scharnstein lernen können. Workshopergebnisse werden am 8. Juli 2022 ab 20:30 Uhr beim Eröffnungs-Filmabend des Blickpunkte Festivals in Scharnstein sowie online präsentiert.
Was wird benötigt?
Wir filmen vor allem mit unseren privaten Smartphones. Mikrophone und Stative werden für den Dreh zur Verfügung gestellt. Kameras und Laptops können mitgebracht werden. Genauere Info folgt bei der Online Einführung.

Seit über zehn Jahren beschäftigen sich das Mies.Magazin und die Architekturplattform wonderland anhand von Film und Video mit Fragen zur gebauten Umwelt und Architektur im ländlichen Raum und in der Stadt. Format ist dabei immer wieder das persönliche Gespräch, ob mit Architekturschaffenden oder mit Nutzer*innen.
