In our last post, we took a moment to share some of the highlights from the past year at Wonderland. Now it’s time to look ahead and see what’s coming next! We are excited to give you a preview of what’s ahead in the upcoming months, so you can mark your calendars and join us for the adventures ahead.
We are pleased to attend the WORLD SUSTAINABLE ENERGY DAYS from 24 to 27 February 2026 at the Stadthalle Wels, with Fair Mobility. We are delighted to meet you there! You will find us in the exhibition section, especially in the breaks, and in the sessions during the conference.
From 27 to 29 May 2026, the EU project Fair Mobility will be taking center stage in Vienna and Ebensee. The initiative has been hard at work, developing inclusive mobility solutions focused on women and gender minorities, with pilot tests in Creil (France) and Ebensee (Austria) to improve accessibility, equity, and safety.
The three-day program will include:
All events are open to the public. Stay tuned for details, we hope to see you there!
From April to May 2026, the project space ‘Raum für Jugendliche’ (Space for Young People) will become visible in Mistelbach. Based on the results of the December 2025 workshops with the three winners of the open call, pop-up hang-out spots will be created for and with youth. Funded by Kulturland Niederösterreich and the Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport, the project will develop cost-effective and creative solutions for youth spaces that encourage independence and social interaction. At the same time, an open-source publication showcasing the best ideas from the open call will be released and made available to municipalities to showcase transferable approaches for youth spaces in rural areas. Further information on the exact dates and events will follow shortly.
This summer, Movies in Wonderland will once again collaborate with Vienna´s Architecture Center Az W and the MuseumsQuartier Wien to host the annual Architektur.Film.Sommer film festival.
The 2026 edition, taking place in the courtyard of Az W, focuses on “Building Democracy” and explores how planning processes can be democratized, how spaces can be shaped to serve the common good, and what responsibility architecture and urban planning carry in fostering democratic environments.
The SPACE project is set to become a fully realised initiative in 2026. The development of an innovative curriculum on placemaking and tactical urbanism in rural areas is underway, with the aim of equipping young people with the necessary skills to transform urban spaces. The curriculum will cover spatial analysis and mapping, participatory and context-specific design, community engagement, and educational work — all of which are key to making spaces more inclusive and liveable. The project addresses the challenges posed by informal settlements in the Western Balkans and builds capacity for sustainable spatial development. In the Weinviertel region, three youth workers will facilitate neighbourhood workshops with young people, sharing the knowledge they gained during their training in Deventer in autumn 2025.
