Last October, Wonderland organized a two-days wood workshop at the Log-ins-leben community, a Viennese organization committed to promoting health and social integration, which has built a large community over its many years of existence, creating a space for many people in need of help.
Using only second-hand materials, we recycled furniture together: a new bench and shelf for distributing donations, as well as a fence to protect the park’s green strip. Everyone got involved in the care and maintenance of the space to transmit a culture of repair, important in this type of community.
Every year, Log-ins-leben organizes a gardening workshop to recycle and enhance the space, as well as their surroundings: the street and the parklot. This not only strengthens the community, but also creates a better atmosphere in the neighborhood and improves relations between neighbors. This inspiring practice shows the importance of getting involved in the space we live in, and the value of the culture of repair. From the point of view of social integration, these are valuable values to share.
