With its pioneering concept for developing vacant spaces, Das Packhaus once again creates space for
innovation.

Established in 2014, Das Packhaus is with its 6000m2 one of the largest Start-up Hubs in Vienna. In addition to the first two locations on Marxergasse and Am Kanal, which already houses about 87 startups and companies, a new location Am Heumarkt has opened its doors. The uniqueness of the new
location: it will house Austria’s first female-only coworking space in combination with temporary use and the new way of working. The project – DAS PACKHAUS Am Heumarkt, platform for female founders – will also offer affordable space to work, exchange and (net-)work with women from various career backgrounds.

From women to women

“We are proud that we seem to be the first female-only coworking space in Austria” says Margot Deerenberg, founder of the association Paradocks, which stands behind Das Packhaus, “Since our team consists only of women, it was important to us to support women, their business ideas and their companies. We do that by giving them contemporary, but above all, affordable workspace. Our coworking space offers a platform for innovation and cooperation.”

A new home for Viennese entrepreneurs

In DAS PACKHAUS Am Heumarkt, a 150m2 coworking space is created for female entrepreneurs. The rent for a fixed table comes to 150 € per month. Included is: furniture, fiber-optic internet, electricity, 24-hour access to all common areas, cleaning and use of meeting rooms. Margot Deerenberg emphasizes in this context: “With the pricing was it is always important for us to consider the needs of our target group. We want to reach especially female entrepreneurs shortly after founding and support them on their journey. We believe in the creativity and business skills of the many aspiring young entrepreneurs and are looking forward to giving them and their ideas a new home in DAS PAKCHAUS Am Heumarkt.” Another highlight of the new location Am Heumarkt is the common space furnished by Thonet. “As a partner of Paradocks, in the coming years we want start a platform for female entrepreneurs and startups on the site and thus promote networking. Also in the future, the area surrounding Am Heumarkt will stand at the forefront supporting diversity, openness and innovation”, explains Daniela Enzi, Managing Director of WertInvest Hotel operations GmbH.

Packhaus has been providing affordable workspaces for almost 5 years to the most exciting startups and emerging innovative organisations in Austria.

At the moment, there are over 100 organisations renting offices in the three locations of DAS PACKHAUS, sharing common spaces such as meeting spaces, kitchenettes, event- and exhibition spaces and a garden. From WisR, the job platform motivated Silver Agers, the e-Mobility Startup goUrban, the Happiness App hiMoment to artists and creatives, various organisations and individuals have found their workspaces. With a total of three locations – Marxergasse, Am Heumarkt, Am Kanal – vacancy in Vienna is used in a productive and sustainable way. This way, Das Packhaus is Austria’s largest temporary use project and creates value for the renters and the real estate owners.

The viennese association Paradocks develops innovative solutions to use vacant spaces with a purpose, creates concepts, consults and researches. Vacancy gains a new value. Following the principle of “in the past lies the future”, Paradocks is addressing to the potential of the unused spaces, adapts available resources and reacts to the needs of many freelancers. Der erste female-only Coworking Space Österreichs

Mit seinem wegweisenden Konzept der Leerstandsnutzung schafft Das Packhaus erneut Raum für Innovation .

Seit 2014 ist Das Packhaus der Wiener Pionier der Immobilienzwischennutzung. Zusätzlich zu den ersten beiden Standorten Marxergasse und Am Kanal, die bereits rund 87 Startups und Unternehmen beherbergen, wird jetzt der Coworking Space Am Heumarkt eröffnet. Die Besonderheit des neuen Standortes: Es wird Österreichs erster female-only Coworking Space sein und zugleich Neues Arbeiten mit effektiver Zwischennutzung von urbanem Leerstand kombinieren. Das Projekt – DAS PACKHAUS am Heumarkt, Plattform for female founders – wird neben günstigen Arbeitsplätzen somit auch eine Austauschplattform für diverse Akteure des Themenspektrums bieten.

Von Frauen für Frauen

„Wir sind stolz, dass wir anscheinend der erste female-only Coworking Space Österreichs sind.“ erklärt Margot Deerenberg, Gründerin vom Verein Paradocks, der hinter Das Packhaus steht, „Nachdem unser nur aus Frauen besteht, war es uns ein großes Anliegen, Frauen dabei zu unterstützen, ihre Geschäftsideen und ihre Unternehmen weiterzuentwickeln. Das tun wir, indem wir ihnen moderne, aber vor allem leistbare Büroräumlichkeiten bieten. Unser Coworking Space soll vor allem die Vernetzung fördern und so Raum für Innovation und Kooperation bieten.“

Eine neue Heimat für Wiens Unternehmerinnen

In den neuen Räumlichkeiten findet auf 150m2 für Unternehmerinnen Platz zur Entfaltung statt. Die Miete für einen eigenen, fixen Tisch in dem Coworking Office kommt auf 150€ pro Monat. Darin inbegriffen sind Arbeitsmobilär, Internet über einen eigenen Glasfaseranschluss des Projektes, als auch Stromkosten, 24-Stunden Zugang zu allen Gemeinschaftsräumlichkeiten, Reinigung sowie die Nutzung von Meetingräume. Margot Deerenberg betont in diesem Zusammenhang: „Bei unserer Preisgestaltung war es uns stets wichtig, die Bedürfnisse unserer Zielgruppe zu berücksichtigen. Wir wollen besonders Unternehmerinnen kurz nach der Gründung erreichen und sie auf ihrem Weg unterstützen. Wir glauben an die Kreativität und Business Skills der vielen aufstrebenden Jungunternehmerinnen und freuen uns, ihnen und ihren Ideen in Das Packhaus Am Heumarkt eine neue Heimat zu geben.“ Ein weiteres Highlight der neuen Location Am Heumarkt ist der von Thonet möblierte Common Space, der im Tagesbetrieb zum Entspannen und Netzwerken einlädt. „Als Partner von Paradocks wollen wir in den kommenden Jahren am Areal eine Plattform zum Thema Unternehmerinnen und Startups ins Leben rufen und somit die Vernetzung weiter voranzutreiben. Auch künftig wird das Areal rund um den Heumarkt für Vielfalt, Offenheit und Innovation stehen“ erklärt Daniela Enzi, Geschäftsführerin der WertInvest Hotelbetriebs GmbH.

Über Das Packhaus 

Das Packhaus ist seit 2014 eine feste Größe in der Wiener Coworking und Startup-Szene. Der dahinter stehende Verein Paradocks hat sich ganz dem Thema Zwischennutzung und Leerstandsmanagement verschrieben. So wird ungenutzten Immobilien neues Leben eingehaucht und Raum für Innovationen geschaffen. Mit Räumlichkeiten, die insgesamt rund 6000 Quadratmeter umfassen, beherbergt. Das Packhaus schon seit fast fünf Jahren die spannendsten Startups der Österreichischen Szene. Momentan haben sich über 100 Unternehmen in den drei Locations von Das Packhaus eingemietet und teilen sich Gemeinschaftsflächen wie Meetingräume, Kaffeeküchen, Event- und Ausstellungsflächen und Garten. Von WisR, der Jobplattform für aktive Senioren, dem e-Mobility Startup goUrban, der Happiness App hiMoment bis hin zu Künstlern und Kreativen haben ganz unterschiedliche Unternehmen ein Zuhause gefunden. Mit insgesamt drei Locations – Marxergasse, Am Heumarkt, Am Kanal – wird der Leerstand in Wien endlich produktiv und nachhaltig genutzt. Somit ist Das Packhaus Österreichs größtes Zwischennutzungsprojekt und erzeugt Mehrwert für Mieter und Immobilienbesitzer.

Über Paradocks

Der Wiener Verein Paradocks sucht nach innovativen Lösungen, um leerstehende Flächen sinnvoll zu nutzen und entwickelt dabei Konzepte, die alle Beteiligten nach vorne bringen, berät und forscht dazu gleichzeitig. Leerstand bekommt so einen ganz neuen Wert. Ganz nach dem Motto „Im Vergangenen steckt Zukunft“ widmet sich Paradocks dem Potential von Ungenutztem, adaptiert verfügbare Ressourcen und reagiert damit auf die Bedürfnisse vieler Selbstständiger. Als Schnittstelle zwischen den eigenen Mietern und den Immobilieneigentümern kümmert sich der Verein darum, für beide Seiten das Optimum aus den Gebäuden herauszuholen und so für Eigentümer, Mieter und die Stadt Wien einen Mehrwert zu generieren.
