Founded in 2012 by a group of young creatives, Movies in Wonderland is a touring pop-up film festival about architecture and urbanism, in public spaces, vacant spaces, and established institutions. Admission to all our open-air screenings and online programs is free, in order to cater to a broad audience on subjects of the built environment and our daily lives within these structures.
Movies in Wonderland presents and discusses films internationally, with collaborations from Vienna to Maputo to Hong Kong. We also produce short films and documentaries and have established a global network of creatives and audiences.
Architectural blind date is a discussion and match making event. The event focuses on a topic and reflects it in terms of architecture, urbanism, design, landscape architecture, urban sociology. We aim to have an interactive talk with our “blindies” and the audience to make sure that with the participants the discussed topic can be dealt in many layers and that all participants at the event can gain new insights.
Project Space is a participatory planning workshop, whith local and international actors and planers. On a specific site they come together to exchange ideas and work on a joint vision for a site. The workshop itself is open to public, has along the duration public events which invite to think out of the box and get in touch with related people. All results are presented to the public and made available on the wonderland digital platform.
wonderLAB – An experimental 24 hour interdisciplinary urban transformation lab and camp! Since 2013, wonderland is celebrating co-creative moments with an exhibition format titled wonderLAB, taking place on real sites with a diverse program to exchange, inform, involve and empower. Functioning as an interactive urban laboratory and camp, the wonderLAB tackles issues socially relevant and connected to the built environment.
